Reverse Lunge + Box Step Ups: not your fathers DB step up!
My love of pairing up exercises in tandem has gone to the next level. Here Nicole is performing a DB box step up and a reverse lunge, both in the same movement. In this particular exercise both legs can alternate doing work.
First one leg uses strength, driving to the top of the box: then the other leg uses the reverse lunge movement for decelerating strength. (Upon completion of the step up, the athlete immediately performs a reverse lunge with the opposite leg)
This exercise is great because both leg works as each rep is performed.
